陈支平   1952年11月生，福建省惠安县人。1987年获厦门大学历史学博士学位，长期从事明清社会经济史与闽台区域史的教学和科研工作。1991年晋升教授，并被国务院学位委员会和国家人事部授予“有突出贡献的中国博士”称号；1993年被国务院学位委员会确定为中国古代史专业博士生导师；1999年入选国家教委首批52位“跨世纪人文社会科学优秀人才培养工程”，2001年被福建省政府授予“福建省优秀专家”称号；现任厦门大学人文学院院长，兼任中国明史学会副会长、中国经济史学会副会长、中国民族史学会副会长、中国商业史学会副会长，以及日本国立大阪大学文学部、台湾暨南大学历史研究所、香港城市大学中国文化中心客座教授等职务。主要著作有《清代赋役制度演变新探》（厦门大学出版社1988年）、《近500年来福建的家族社会与文化》（三联书店上海分店1991年）、《明史新编》（合著，人民出版社1993年）、《福建宗教史》（1996年）、《福建族谱》（福建人民出版社1996年）、《客家源流新论》（1997年）、《福建六大民系》（2000年）、《透视中国东南----文化与经济的整合研究》（主编，厦门大学出版社2003年）、《五百年来福建的家族与社会》（台北扬智文化事业股份有限公司2004年）、《民间文书与明清赋役史研究》（黄山书社2004年）、《民间文书与台湾社会经济史》（岳麓书社2004年）、《历史学的困惑》（中华书局2004年），以及主编大型《台湾文献汇刊》100册等。其中《近500年来福建的家族社会与文化》获第二届全国普遍高校人文社会科学优秀成果奖，《透视中国东南----文化与经济的整合研究》获2004年中国图书奖，《福建六大民系》获福建省第三届人文社会科学优秀成果二等奖，《台湾文献汇刊》于2005年元月正式出版发行，国家领导人成思危、许嘉璐以及中共中央对台办公室的领导同志参加了在人民大会堂举行的出版发行座谈会。目前，陈支平正在主持国家大清史工程的《财政金融志（上）》和国家社会科学基金重大委托项目《中国南方民族的起源及形成》的研究撰写工作。

Dr. Chen Zhiping was born in 1952. He held a Ph.D. in history. He is among the first group of fifty-two “Distinguished Cross-Century Specialists in Humanities and Social Sciences.” He is dean of College of Humanities and a Ph.D. student supervisor at Xiamen University, as well as the vice president both of the Association of Chinese Economic History and the Association of Ming Studies. His research interests include Chinese economic history, the history of the Ming and Qing periods, and local history of the Fujian-Taiwan region. His publications include Qingdai fuyi zhidu yanbian xintan (A New Investigation of the Evolution of the Fiscal Administration during the Qing Period), Ming shi xin bian (A New History of the Ming Dynasty), Fujian zupu (The Genealogy in Fujian), Kejia yuanliu xin tan (A New Investigation of the History of Hakka), Minjian wenshu yu Ming Qing fuyi shi yanjiu (Local Documents and the Study of the History of Fiscal Administration in the Ming and Qing Periods), Lishixue de kunhuo (Confusion of History), and Toushi Zhongguo dongnan (X-raying Southeastern China). He is also the editor of the 100-volumed series Taiwan wenxian huikan (Taiwan Documents Series).
